Take a walk through the heart of old Battle Creek, beginning at Monument Park and the home of the Sojourner Truth and C. W. Post memorials, and ending at Handmap Brewery, which occupies the former home of the Record Printing and Box Co., built in 1902 in the early days of Battle Creek's cereal boom. Check out the businesses along this stretch of road, once nothing more than a rutted dirt trail that followed a Native American path. This is the cradle of what would become Battle Creek.
