1) Monument Park, Division and Michigan Avenue. Established in 1900, the park is site of memorials to C. W. Post and Sojourner Truth.


3) City Hall, 103 E. Michigan Ave. The Beaux-Arts style building was constructed between 1911 and 1914.


4) Commerce Pointe, 77 E. Michigan Ave., former site of the city's first Post Office building and the Hall of Justice.


5) Elizabeth Building, 66-68 E. Michigan Ave. The three-story business block, built in 1912, was named for the builder's wife, Elizabeth Hoffmaster.


6) Potter (Callahan) Block, 36-40 E. Michigan Ave. After an 1880 fire burned his hotel, Henry Potter built this business block for $20,000.


7) Binder Building, 34 E. Michigan Ave. Built as meat store in 1887, the upper floors of the business block included an apartment for the owner's family. The Binder family ran the business until the 1950s.


8) Ermisch Travel, 26 East Ave. Former site of the Battle Creek Gas Co., now part of Semco Energy. The company was organized in 1870 and built this Romanesque style office block in 1901.


9) Mill Race Park, West Michigan Avenue. Construct in 1991, the park commemorates the mill race, built by founder Sands McCamly, that powered the villages first industries.


10) Site of Battle Creek House, 2 W. Michigan Ave. Leonard Starkweather built the hotel and stage coach stop in 1836. This hub of the town's social and political life would become the financial center known as Bank Corners.


11) Toeller Building, 17-21 W. Michigan Ave. Behind the modern facade is one of Battle Creek's most historic buildings, the Hamblin Opera House.


12) The Milton, former Heritage Tower, Comerica Tower and Old Merchants National Bank, 25 W. Michigan Ave.


13) Battle Creek Welcome Center, site of the Congregational-Presbyterian Church, built in 1849 and site of Sojourner Truth's funeral service.


14) Site of Post Tavern and Post Building, southeast and southwest corner of Michigan and McCamly avenues.


15) Battle Creek Tower, formerly Transamerica Tower, Wolverine Tower and Central National Bank, and the site of the Marjorie Business Block.


16) MacGregor Block, 91-95 W. Michigan Ave. This large and elaborately decorated business block was built in 1923 by Dr. Archibald MacGregor, chief of staff at Leila Hospital.


17) Alex Ratti Building, 115-121 W. Michigan Ave. The Italian immigrant and confectioner Alex Ratti built this retail rental property in 1914.


18) Handmap Brewery, 15 Carlyle St. The building was originally built for the Record Printing and Box Company, a manufacturer of paper cartons and boxes for breakfast foods. Today, it is reborn as The Record Box.
